HEAD COACH
Nate Lehman
Coach Lehman is a graduate of St. Cloud State University. While there he played football earning a degree in Education--Technology and Engineering. After graduating from St. Cloud State, Coach Lehman started teaching in the Fond du Lac School District in January 2002. In 2003, Coach Lehman had an opportunity to play professional football for the Green Bay Blizzard in arena football. He played for two seasons before focusing on his family, teaching, and coaching. Coach Lehman has coached for the Cardinals before. He coached JV from 2002-2003, and Varsity from 2004- 2005, before being selected as the head football coach at North Fond du Lac from 2006- 2007. This is Coach Lehman’s third season as the Cardinals Head Coach.
Coach Lehman has been married to Gina since 2002 and they have two children.
VARSITY COACHES
Marc Curcurio-Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Marc is a 1980 graduate of Goodrich HS and a 1984 Ripon College grad. His coaching trail has brought him from Ripon College 1989-1994, to Fondy in 1995. In 1996, he returned to Ripon as their “D” coordinator until 2003. In 2003, he coached seventh grade at Woodworth. The 2005 season he was at Markesan HS. In 2006-2007 he was at St. Mary Central in Menasha. In 2008 he returned home to coach the Cardinals. Marc earned all-conference honors both at Fondy (’79) and at Ripon (’82). He was captain of the defense at Ripon in 1983 as well as their defensive MVP. Marc and his wife have two children, Joe and Tess.
Joe Guyette-Strength and Conditioning Coordinator/Defensive Line
Joe has coached football for 31 years, including eighteen at St. Mary's Springs HS and 13 for the Cardinals. He also is a former athletic director at St. Mary's Springs. Joe is also a teacher and track coach at Fondy High. Coach Guyette graduated from Goodrich High School and went to the University of Dubuque, where he played three years of football. He has three sons: Shane, Joey, and Gerard, two grandsons and two granddaughters.
Ryan Blaine-Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Backs
Ryan started coaching for the Cardinals in 2008. Before joining the Cardinal Staff, Ryan spent two years as an assistant coach in North Fond du Lac, and one season coaching 7th grade football at Woodworth. Ryan graduated from Goodrich HS in 1997 and went on to play football at Ripon College. He was a 2 year All-Conference Safety for the Red Hawks. Ryan is the Vice President of AWI, a local recruiting firm with locations in Appleton, Milwaukee, and Chicago. Ryan lives in Fond du Lac with his wife Heidi and children Jackson and McKayla.
Troy Bonlander-Co-Running Game Coordinator/Offensive Line
Troy started coaching for the Cardinals in 2006. Troy graduated from Goodrich High School and the University of Platteville. He was a four year starter on the offensive line at Platteville where he received honors as a two-time 1st Team All-Conference lineman and was named a Parade All-American as a senior. Troy was a graduate assistant at Platteville for one year and an assistant coach for three years in Plymouth. He is married to April and they have three children, Drew, Shelby, and Logan.
Todd Whittaker-Co-Running Game Coordinator/Running Backs
Todd began his coaching career in 1997 joining the Cardinal Football Staff. Todd coached for the Cardinals from 1997-2005, North Fond du Lac from 2006-2007, and in 2008 came back to his home town to coach the running backs. Todd played football for Goodrich High School and graduated in 1997. He attended Marian College and earned a double major in History and Secondary Education. Todd and his wife Dawn reside in Fond du Lac with their new baby girl, Bren.
JUNIOR VARSITY COACHES
Eric Gross- Head Coach
Eric started coaching for the Cardinals in 2008 at the Freshmen level. In 2009 he became the head JV coach. Eric is a 1984 graduate of St. Mary's Springs where he was an All Conference/All State linebacker on the Springs first State Champion team. Eric played football at UW LaCrosse until injury ended his career. He has many years of experience coaching in youth leagues as well as two years in 1986 and 87 coaching freshmen football at St. Marys Springs. Eric is employed by the State of Wisconsin and he, his wife Chris, and daughters Katelyn and Karli reside in FDL.
Brian Shea-Defensive Coordinato
Brian has been involved in coaching youth football since 1996 when he created and organized the Fondy Junior Football League. From 2005-2008 Brian coached at the 9th grade level, and in 2009 he started coaching the JV. He graduated from UW Superior and is a 747 pilot with United Airlines. He has two children,Josh and Mike who are former "Fondy" players and resides in Fond du Lac with his wife Roberta.
Brian Harney- Offensive Coordinator
Brian Harney started coaching for the Cardinals in 2009. He is a 1970 graduate of Goodrich HS and earned a football scholarship at Wisconsin. He earned a BS in Physical Education at Madison and has taught for the North Fond du Lac school district for 32 years. Brian coached football at St. Mary’s Springs for two years 1975-76, was an assistant at North Fond du lac 1977-1981 and was head football coach at North Fond du Lac for 23 years from 1982-2004. From 2005-06 Brian coached in the Fondy Junior football league and fromthe 2007-08 coached the 7th and 8th grade Sabish Bears. Brian and his wife Ginnie live in St. Peter and have a son Brian who plays for the Cardinals.
FRESHMAN COACHES
Joel Warner
Joel Warner is in his fourth year coaching Freshmen football for the Cardinals. Before coaching for the Cardinals Joel was the head coach at Woodworth Middle School where he is also a Physical Education Teacher. Joel and his wife Janice have two children, Sam and Sadie.
Joe Rens
Joe Rens enters his 9 season on the Cardinal football coaching staff. He graduated high school from Waupun WI in 1992, then attended UW Stevens Point were he earned a B.S degree in Physical Education/Health and Adaptive PE He teaches Elementary Physical Education at Waters Elementary. Joe is also the head wrestling coach at Fondy High School. Him and his wife Jenny reside in Fond du Lac and have a son Jack.
TJ Severson
Coach Severson begins his first season on the Cardinal football coaching staff. He graduated from Brodhead High School in 2001. He continued on to UW-Stevens Point to play football for the Pointers. He started at Guard as a red-shirt freshmen. TJ completed his education at Midstate Technical College in Stevens Point, earning a degree in Business Administration in 2006. After working in the Sales Industry for the previous four years, TJ is returning to school at Moraine Park to pursue a degree in Nursing. TJ’s wife, Liz, is a Social Studies teacher at Fondy High, and they have a daughter named, Emma.
